Mahindra & Mahindra is reportedly developing an electric version of its popular SUV, the XUV700. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and strengthen its presence in the growing EV market in India.

The introduction of the XUV400 EX and multiple electric vehicle concepts has already showcased Mahindra’s commitment to EVs. Now, with the XUV700 being one of Mahindra’s flagship models, transitioning it into an electric version appears to be a natural progression. Its reputation for performance, spaciousness, and reliability positions it as a strong candidate for electrification, appealing to customers seeking a premium electric SUV.

Design and Feature Expectations

Industry sources suggest that the upcoming electric XUV700 will maintain a design similar to its internal combustion engine counterpart, with necessary changes tailored for the EV version. These updates may include a redesigned front grille, more aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a modified bumper.
